Medical Oncology

The main aim of medical oncology to provide best outcome for cancer patients, whether that is cure or palliation and prolongation of good quality life. Oncologists provide counselling for their patients and families. Clinical research is the important feature of their job. Clinical trials, clinical care, laboratory and transitional cancer research form an integral part of the training. Oncologists trained to work under multidisciplinary team and able to advice in all aspects of the treatment.

Medical Oncologists role is to diagnosis cancers, discussing treatment options with patients, arranging and supervising drug treatment and therapies including the management of any complications that may arise and also to support patients and overseeing their care, including their lives after treatments.
